Private Mentorships Now Available
After many years, Poetrymind (Jacqueline Gens) is now offering private one-on-one mentorships for an affordable price based on one's income. Suggested donations are $10-$20 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours per each session. Sessions can be in person here in Shelburne Falls, MA, via email or by Skype.
You submit the work you would like to be considered and then I respond back in detail with suggestions and prompts for further directions to go in. The entire process is personalized.
[1 long poem or 3-5 short poems per session]
Who benefits from these mentorships--
1) Beginners with little background in poetry but with a desire to express themselves and who would benefit from introduction to the craft of poetry, guided readings, writing prompts and suggestions for further poems.
2) Individuals who have an established poetry practice but are unsure of themselves and would like to develop greater confidence and the deveopment of an unshakeable authentic voice.
3) Writers who are interested in applying for a professional graduate MFA program and would like feedback to their applications or help in preparing an application.
4) Established writers gone stale looking for new approaches to their craft via an inspired conversation with another writer.
Jacqueline Gens has worked with poets for over 30 years. She brings a unique perspective combining her deep training in all aspects of Tibetan Buddhism, her long-term personal affiliation with the late poet Allen Ginsberg & company, and her decade of co-directing the New England College MFA program in poetry she co-founded with Chard deNiord in 2001.
